Inter-club carrom from August 17
View(s):One of the leading league tournaments hosted by the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka, the Inter-Club League Carrom Championship 2013, will commence from August 17 at the CFSL headquarters in Maharagama.
The highly anticipated competition for slicers of all calibers will include events in seven divisions in total in both the men’s and women’s categories. In the men’s category teams will be divided into four divisions, A, B, C and D while the women’s segment will include the A, B and C divisions.
“In both categories the ‘A’ division will only allow two top-ranked players and the third player should be non-ranked. All players who qualified to play in the Rankers event held from the year 2012 should compulsorily play in the ‘B’ division. The rest could compete in the ‘C’ division,” explained the general secretary of the CFSL, Rohini Mathiasz.
The acceptance of entries will end on August 3 while the draw is scheduled for the following day at the CFSL headquarters in Maharagama. All men’s matches will be decided on the basis of the best of nine singles games while in the women’s segment games will be decided on best of five, which includes four singles and a doubles.
