Ragama CC dominate second day’s proceedings

Ragama CC dominated the proceedings against Air Force SC in the morning session of play on day two in their Under 23 Division One cricket encounter played at Braybrooke Place.
Ragama CC batting the second time was sitting pretty as they ended the day making a massive 319 for 5 which came on the back of a fine knock of 133 in only 144 balls by Udara Jayasundara which had nine boundaries and seven sixes.
Udara was also associated in two fruitful partnerships first for the opening wicket of 124 runs with Dhananjaya de Silva who made a knock of 73 which was followed by a 109 runs stand for the second wicket with Jason Perera.
Earlier in the day Ragama CC bowled out the Airmen, resuming on their overnight score of 85 for 4. to 153 with pacie Chathura Peiris, who ended with impressive figures of 5 for 49 and Dhananjaya de Silva taking three scalps, doing the damage.
This was in reply to Ragama CC’s score of 266 on day one and now Ragama CC has stretched their lead to 432 runs. The match will be continued today.
Colts too was on top against Navy SC when play stopped on day two. Colts after bowling out the sailors for a low score of 113 resumed their overnight score of 174 for 5 and went on to make a formidable 251. Navy SC batting the second time with a deficit of 138 runs fared better and was 247 for 8.
