School children are to be educated on the use of Nanotechnology – the science of the small where extremely small things can be used across all the other science fields such as Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Materials Science and Engineering.

The first Nanotechnology park is under construction in Homagama.

Technology, Research and Atomic Energy Minister Champika Ranawaka last week briefed students of Mahinda Rajapaksa Vidyalya, Homagama, about the advantages of Nanotechnology.

He said that the technology is currently being used in other countries, and will take only a short time to spread worldwide. Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena also accompanied Mr Ranawaka for the visit to the park scheduled to open in October.
