D.S. Senanayake College Interact Club last week presented its inaugural “Interact Model United Nations 2013”
The topic for the day was “Terrorism and the threat posed to International peace and security”.

‘The debate was fierce, making the delegates more enthusiastic to participate. It may have been interact only, but it was for making a comfortable environment for all newcomers to participate,” the organising committee said.

UN Volunteers Programme Officer Natal Donnaloia was Chief Guest at the opening ceremony, while Head and Country Representative, UN Office for Project Services, Ms. Francoise Jacob was Chief Guest at the closing ceremony-
United Nations Information Centre Officer in-charge Mrs Kumari Wickramasinghe was the Guest of Honour.

The schools that participated were Royal College, Gateway College, Sujatha Vidyalaya, St. Bridget’s Convent, Asian International School, Elizabeth Moir, Wesley College, St. Josephs College, St. Peters College, Nalanda College, Visakha Vidyalaya, British School of Colombo, Good Shepherd Convent, Isipathana College, St, Thomas College Mt Lavinia, St. Thomas Preparatory School
