Hundreds of parents intending to admit their children to Year 1 of government schools, in 2014, are seen at the Elections Dept, to get information on electoral registers of the past five years.

“When a large number of parents come to the Elections Dept to obtain these documents, officials find it difficult to attend to their day’s activities,” Mr Deshapriya, told Education Times.

Grama Niladhari officers are available in their offices on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, from 8.30 am to 12.00 noon.
