AOD Open Day – A real success for creative design in SL
View(s):AOD international design campus together with Northumbria University School of Design hosted the 2013 INSPIRE DESIGN Open Day last week. It attracted the cream of the creative crop of young talent with almost 200 youngsters aspiring to enter the multi -billion dollar design industry given that AOD’s promise in the last ten years has been 100% employability post the degree.

The INSPIRE DESIGN 2013 open day was an interactive educational experience focusing on the importance of design in today’s world, where youngsters got a chance to experience one-on-one education with the international faculty of AOD that is certified by the Northumbria University in the areas of Fashion Design, Graphics Design, Motion Graphics and Interior Design. Here, each student understood the intrinsic details of the design degree and the job opportunities available in the market upon graduating. What was unique at the event was that the alumni of AOD who are all employed in the privates sector was present so that parents of aspiring students had the opportunity of engaging with them and understanding the employment and overall remuneration that one can earn when gainfully employed in design.

The design workshops were a special highlight of the day and were led by AOD’s proven international design faculty from US, UK, Canada, New Zealand and South America that has been teaching at AOD for the last five to six years.
This gave the participants a rare opportunity to meet these international design professionals, learn from them and truly experience a preview to introductory level global education and the standards expected when enrolled at AOD post the successful completion of the entrance interview.
For this special event, AOD International Design Campus premises opened its global standard facilities and also hosted an exhibition of internal Northumbria University UK degree programme curricula, students’ work process, the industry-student collaborative projects, the global study tours to New York etc.
