The trial of a principal who allegedly accepted a bribe, to issue a school-leaving certificate, was fixed for July 13, by Colombo High Court Judge Irangani Perera.

Principal of Tamil Vidyalaya No 2 in Blackwood, Hatton, was arrested last year, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 6,000, to issue the aforesaid certificate to a past pupil.

The principal has pleaded “Not Guilty” to the charges, and is presently out on bail of Rs 10,000 each on two sureties.
