Thirteen University Colleges to be set up this year by Youth Affairs and Skills Development Ministry.
Accordingly, two university colleges in Belwood Aesthetic Centre and Sapugaskanda Vocational Training Centre, University College on Health Studies at Sri Jayawardenapura hospital premises and University College in Ampara in the new buildings constructed at Ampara College of Technology under the ‘Deyata Kirula’ programme, are under way.

In addition to the above, nine other university colleges are to be constructed in Ratmalana, Kuliyapitiya, Thalalla, Baddegama, Katunayake, Anuradhapura, Borella, Katubedda and Jaffna.
The proposal by Youth Affairs and Skills Development Minister Dallas Alahapperuma to proceed with the construction of the nine university colleges, subject to stipulations made by the general treasury, was approved by the Cabinet on Thursday.
