The main aim of this two day conference was to enhance exam success through further improving learning support in the region by sharing exam-focused teaching and student engagement strategies aligned to the ACCA vision of the e-professional.
Unique to the conference, was the parallel sessions that enabled delegates to discuss and learn about specialized interests. The concluding panel discussion set a definitive road map for ACCA learning providers and employers for further elevating professional accounting education standards in the region leading to a greater vibrant profession.

Outlining the benefit he had gained from the conference Mr. Thilina Ukwatta.Lecturer of the Mercury Institute of Management , the only platinum tuition provider in Sri Lanka stated “Attending the MENASA conference rewarded me with a wealth of knowledge and exposure .In my view it was not a mere conference with typical ex-parte communication but more of an interactive session which immensely facilitated me to express my views on the ACCA qualification. The panel discussion which brought in numerous contemporary issues faced by modern accountants groomed me to think laterally on how we should train our students to confront those challenges. Furthermore, the workshop on OBU Mentoring nourished me with the vivid approaches on how to become a successful mentor, facilitating student success. Last but not least, meeting new people, sharing ideas and thoughts and building up the network were the great experiences which were added to my life thanks to the MENASA conference.”

Speaking at the event, Ms Lucia Real Martin, Director Emerging Markets – Asia, ACCA stated “Because accountancy is the language of business, the profession and its partners – such as learning providers – bind the global market place together. The professional helps with capacity building initiatives in practical and tangible ways, including professional bodies working with learning providers and employers to train the accountants that the world, and in particular the MENASA region needs”.
