Charith and Savin slam tons

Unbeaten tons by skipper Charith Jayampathi and Savin Cyril were the highlights of the drawn 4th Battle of the Gold’s big match between DSS and Mahanama Colombo at the SSC ground. This match too was stopped with just over one session of play left due to rain.

Jayampathi and Savin in the process was involved in an unbroken record stand of 219 runs for the fourth wicket as DSS resuming from their overnight score of 31 for no loss ended the proceedings making a formidable 277 for 3 in reply to Mahanama’s 285 for 7 declared.

Jayampathi’s knock which came off 202 balls included 18 boundaries while Savin’s 240 ball innings comprised ten boundaries. Mahanama too had a centurion in Duleeka Tissakuttige who made 102 in 206 balls with ten boundaries.
