Sri Lanka and Belarus discuss cooperation in education

Foreign Affairs Minister Vjiitha Herath has met with Belarus Minister of Health, Aliaksandr Khajayeu, to discuss expanding cooperation in the health sector between the two countries strengthening bilateral collaboration in medical education, healthcare services and research.

Minister Herath visited the Belarusian State Medical University in Minsk and met with the Rectors of the Belarusian State Medical University, Vitebsk, Grodno and Gomel Medical Universities, where over 3,000 Lankan medical students are pursuing their studies, reflecting the strong educational partnership between the two countries.

He held discussions with Belarusian leaders on a range of subjects, including education.

Minister Herath met President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk during which they discussed the subject of education as well.

Discussions were also held with Belarusian leaders, senior officials, business representatives, and stakeholders in the tourism sector.
