Four Gateway Students Selected to Represent Sri Lanka at the International Economics Olympiad 2026 in China

In an extraordinary accomplishment, four of the five national selections for the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2026 have been secured by Gateway students — a remarkable testament to the calibre, dedication, and intellectual strength nurtured within the institution.
Nawid Nazar, Ranithu Rishon, and Dylan Pangoda from Gateway College Dehiwala, together with Abdulla Carder from Gateway College Colombo, have been officially selected to represent Sri Lanka at this prestigious global competition, which will be held in China from 12th to 20th July 2026.
The students earned their places through an intensely competitive national selection process conducted by the Sri Lanka Economics Association, facing some of the country’s most academically accomplished young minds.
