SCU Introduces MSc Artificial Intelligence and MSc Software Engineering and Applications Programmes Awarded by University of Bedfordshire, UK
View(s):SCU will officially launch the MSc Artificial Intelligence and MSc Software Engineering programmes awarded by the University of Bedfordshire, UK, at a special industry event on 17th March from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. at NH Collection Colombo.

The launch will bring together leaders from Sri Lanka’s IT industry, corporate partners, academics and technology professionals to mark the introduction of two globally recognised postgraduate qualifications aimed at addressing the growing demand for advanced digital expertise.
A key highlight of the evening will be a Fireside Chat titled “Skills for an AI Economy: Sri Lankan and British Perspectives.” The moderated panel discussion, followed by an interactive Q&A session, will explore how artificial intelligence and modern software engineering practices are reshaping industries, and the type of specialised skills required to remain competitive in an increasingly technology-driven economy.
The MSc Artificial Intelligence programme is designed to provide in-depth knowledge in machine learning, intelligent systems, data analytics and emerging AI applications across sectors such as finance, healthcare and smart technologies. The MSc Software Engineering programme focuses on advanced software design, secure systems development, DevOps practices and enterprise-level application architecture to meet the complex needs of modern organisations.
Delivered at SCU and awarded by the University of Bedfordshire, the programs offer Sri Lankan students the opportunity to obtain a recognized UK master’s qualification while studying locally. The collaboration reflects SCU’s continued commitment to expanding internationally benchmarked postgraduate pathways aligned with both academic excellence and industry relevance.
As Sri Lanka’s technology sector continues to grow and contribute significantly to national economic development, the need for highly skilled professionals in artificial intelligence and software engineering has become increasingly evident. Through these new master’s programmes, SCU aims to develop graduates equipped to lead innovation, drive digital transformation and contribute meaningfully to both local and global markets.
The evening will conclude with a networking session and cocktail reception, providing attendees with an opportunity to engage with academic leaders, industry representatives and fellow professionals.
