Dousing students in ink or coloured water after completing the GCE (Ordinary Level) examination has become the norm. Here, a group of students is seen after the examination in Mattakkuliya.

The special security plan to prevent unruly incidents among students after the conclusion of the exam on Thursday, was not successful as several incidents were reported.

Police Headquarters said the measure was being taken in response to incidents reported in previous years, where students who sat for the exam were involved in disorderly behaviour at the end.

However, similar incidents were reported this year too, with students seen throwing ink at each other.
