Once again, forces to the rescue

The nation’s security forces, who once saved the country and its people from the throes of the separatist threat, have again been called in to save lives — this time from a devastating cyclone that left nearly a million affected and hundreds dead or missing. The pictures show Air Force personnel (left) rescuing a girl in a Kurunegala village from a roof top, while sailors in a Navy boat (right) rescuing a marooned family in a Trincomalee village.
