OKIan Scholars 2025 Awards Ceremony Showcases Academic Excellence and Resilience
View(s):The NIIBS Convention Centre was filled with pride and applause on 11th October as OKI International School hosted its Annual OKIan Scholars 2025 Awards Ceremony, held in two sessions honouring the academic excellence of students across all branches.
The morning session, dedicated to the Junior School, commenced under the patronage of Prof. Renya Kikuchi, Chairman of SCIIP Japan, as the Chief Guest, together with OKI alumna Mrs. Roshani Azeez as the Guest of Honour. A total of 274 Subject Award Winners, 3 Emerging Stars, 86 Robotics Achievers, and 45 Best Performers were recognised.
The afternoon session, held for the Senior School, took place in the esteemed presence of Senior Prof. P. M. C. Thilakarathne, Vice Chancellor of the Open University of Sri Lanka, as Chief Guest, together with Guests of Honour Mrs. Nirmalee Saparamadu, Mr. Imran Furkan, and OKI alumna Ms. Ayesha Gamage.
The event was also graced by Directress Mrs. Denum Abeysekera, Senior Management, Respected Principals, dedicated Teachers, valued Parents, and loving Students. During the session, 224 Subject Winners, 3 Emerging Stars, 53 Best Performers, and 20 Top-tier GCE Achievers were presented with awards, each symbolising not only academic excellence but also resilience and personal growth.
Adding glamour and vibrancy to both sessions, the ceremony also featured colourful dance, music, and drama performances by talented OKIans, creating an atmosphere of celebration and pride.
The event concluded with a standing ovation, honouring the remarkable achievements of the students and reaffirming OKI International School’s strong commitment to nurturing confident, future-ready global citizens.
