University of Ruhuna, RMIT Australia discuss strengthening collaboration
View(s):The University of Ruhuna held discussions with representatives of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Australia on joint research and Postgraduate programmes in many subject disciplines.
The discussions were held when a delegation from RMIT Australia called on Vice Chancellor Senior Professor P A Jayantha recently.
The possibility of strengthening academic and research collaboration between the two universities were also discussed.
The team of 10 members were headed by Prof Calum Drummond, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) of RMIT. Prof Sujeeva Setunge, Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation attended the meeting.
Deans of the Faculties, Director of CINTA, Board of Management of CINTA and academic staff from the Faculty of Engineering attended the meeting. Prof Sudhira De Silva from the Faculty of Engineering coordinated the event.
The delegation visited the laboratories of the Faculty of Science and the China-Sri Lanka Joint Centre for Education and Research. The visit concluded with a cultural show organised by the Faculty of Engineering.
