Extra Deepawali holiday for Central Province Tamil schools

Central Province Governor Sarath Abeykoon has granted a special holiday to all Tamil schools in the province on the day after the Deepawali festival (21).

This holiday has been granted in accordance with the request made by the Deputy Director of Education, M Ganeshrajh in charge of the administration of the Nuwara Eliya Education Zone, to the Deputy Minister of Plantation Social Infrastructure, Sundaralingam Pradeep.

The governor has instructed principals to conduct school on Saturday, October 25 instead to compensate for this holiday. (PK)
