Kelaniya hosts ‘Smart Computing and Systems Engineering 2025’ conference
View(s):The 8th international research conference on Smart Computing and Systems Engineering 2025, organised by the University of Kelaniya’s Department of Industrial Management, Faculty of Science, was held recently.
University of Kelaniya Vice Chancellor Senior Professor Nilanthi De Silva was chief guest, while Senior Professor Koliya Pulasinghe from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) was the keynote speaker.
The conference brought together academics and professionals from around the world with the objective of creating a platform for researchers to explore, discuss, and bring their research ideas to fruition. With 453 submissions from countries such as Australia, the UK, Japan, and India, the conference maintained a highly competitive acceptance rate of 25 per cent, the university said.
SCSE 2025 featured insightful keynote speeches, technical sessions, and industry collaborations, highlighting the latest advancements covering topics from artificial intelligence and machine learning to innovation, resilience, and supply chain management, the university said.
The conference served as a platform to explore the transformative potential of these dynamic fields. Additionally, it fostered discussions on cutting edge technologies, showcasing their role in transforming industries, enhancing efficiency, and redefining the way we live, work, and connect with the world.
Additionally, the event was attended by Professor M M Gunatilake, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences; Dr Sudath Senarath, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities; academic staff of the university and students.
