CIPM Sri Lanka Powers the Future of HR through the Great HR Debate 2025
View(s):CIPM Sri Lanka – the nation’s leader in human resource management – proudly launched the much-anticipated Great HR Debate 2025, a landmark event on the HR calendar that celebrates intellectual agility, strategic thinking, and communication excellence among HR professionals. Kicking off in April 2025 with 20 dynamic teams from leading corporates, the tournament is set to culminate in a grand finale on June 2nd, the first day of the prestigious National HR Conference.
This year’s debate championship unfolds through an exhilarating journey of intellectual exchange, featuring a series of matches across three competitive rounds before moving into the high-stakes Quarter Finals. With 20 teams participating—the highest number in the history of the Great HR Debate—the 2025 edition has set a new benchmark for enthusiasm, energy, and spirited competition. As the tournament now enters its third and final round, judges have praised the exceptional calibre of arguments and the vibrant atmosphere, calling it a level of engagement and rivalry unlike anything witnessed in previous years.
In a groundbreaking partnership, CIPM has collaborated with Toastmasters International (District 82) to provide all participating teams with access to specialised training in public speaking, persuasive communication, and leadership.
The 20 participating teams for this year include Aitken Spence PLC, ESOFT Metro Campus (Pvt) Ltd, Rockland Distilleries (Private) Limited, Eswaran Brothers Exports Pvt Ltd, Citizens Development Business Finance PLC, Omega Line Group, H Connect International (Pvt) Ltd, GTN Technologies, Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, Vavuniya Apparels, Colombo Coffee Company (Pvt) Ltd, Hemas Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd, Hemas Hospitals (Pvt) Ltd, Gamma Pizzakraft Lanka Pvt Ltd, DIMO PLC, Dialog Axiata PLC, IFS R&D International PVT LTD, A. Baur & Co. (Pvt.) Ltd., Sampath Bank, and Hatton National Bank PLC.

The Grand Finals will take place at Monarch Imperial, Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte on June 2nd, 2025, promising an electrifying conclusion to this flagship event. The champions of the debate will be crowned, and special recognition will be given to the Best Debater, honouring exceptional talent and presentation.
