BCAS Sanhinda Soorya Mangalya 2025 – A Celebration of Culture and Unity

BCAS Campus proudly hosted its annual Sinhala & Tamil New Year celebrations, titled “Sanhinda Soorya Mangalya”, on the 29th of April 2025 at the S. De. S. Jayasinghe Grounds, Dehiwala. The event was a vibrant showcase of tradition, culture, and—most importantly—unity.
The celebration was honoured by the presence of the Chairman of BCAS Campus, Mr. Rajendra Theagarajah, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Teresh Amaratunga, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ruvan Abeysekara, and Chief Growth Officer Mr. Rajitha Ranaweera.
From traditional games to cultural rituals, the day was filled with colour, energy, and shared joy. A highlight of the celebration was the crowning of the “Sanhinda Soorya Mangalya 2025 Avurudu Kumara & Kumariya”, uniquely selected from both students and staff. This tradition not only adds a festive touch, but also symbolises the spirit of collaboration and togetherness that defines our BCAS community—where students and staff work hand in hand to create memorable experiences.
