Applications called from government officials for Singapore education programme

The Education Ministry has circulated a notice calling for applications from government officials for the Education Transformation for Policymakers programme to be held in Singapore.

Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP) has invited nominations from eligible state officials to apply for the programme scheduled to be held from August 18 to 22.

The course would cover the challenges to Singapore education system, including how it has continuously transformed itself to deliver outcomes that strengthen students’ competencies and dispositions to excel in school.

The course would cover topics such as emerging education trends, and issues, policies, and practices to cultivate forward looking schools to prepare students to face challenges and seek new opportunities, strategies for development of resilient school systems, strategies and initiatives to foster innovation change to improve the quality of teaching, and school leadership, as well as policies to cultivate professionalism in teaching to enhance both teacher and teaching quality.

The course would be conducted in person in Singapore and in a variety of formats which is not limited to seminar style sessions, and would have site visits and group discussions.

Applicants should be mid to senior government officials involved in policy making for education, proficient in written and spoken English and in good health.

Visa application fees for entry into Singapore are arranged under the course which is sponsored by the Government of Singapore (participants are responsible for their own transit visa).

Hotel accommodation for the entire duration of the course would also be borne by the Singapore Government. A complimentary breakfast is provided by the hotel.

Airfare for the programme should be borne by the applicant even though the guidelines of the programme states that airfare is borne by the nominating government, due to a budget circular issued by the secretary to the president, as such payments cannot be made using budgetary funds.

All nominees are requested to submit their applications online at https://go.gov.sg/edutransform2025.T he deadline for the date of nomination is June 20.
