Isipathana, St.Peter’s take a back seat
 

12-a-side rugby

Rugby stalwarts Isipathana and St. Peter’s were forced to take a back seat by being knocked out of the All Island under 16, 12-a-side rugby tournament at Nittawela yesterday.

Isipathana had an impressive 46-0 win in the first outing but Wesley pulled the rug from under their feet in the next match.

St.Peter’s got past the Benedictines but were brought down to earth by the Vidyartrha lads.
Five Kandy schools – Trinity,St. Anthony’s, Vidyartha, Dharmaraja and St.Sylvester’s will feature in the Cup competition. They will be joined by Wesley, Piliyandala and Royal.

The Plate will be contested by Isipathana, St.Peter’s, Thurstan, S. Thomas’ Prep, Scinece College, S. Thomas’, D.S. Senanayake and C.W.W. Kannangara. - AK
