Top contenders make it to Cup semis

The conclusion of the second day’s proceedings of the 49th Mercantile Rugby 7s played at Longdon Place yesterday saw top four contenders making it the Cup semi-finals scheduled to be played today.

Defending champions Access Group along with three other title contenders Dialog ‘A’, MAS ‘A’ and John Keells Holdings ‘A’ have qualified to battle it out in the Cup semi-finals which is scheduled to be worked off from 11.40am.

In the Bowl segment saw Brandix ‘B’ along with Sampath Bank, John Keells Holdings ‘B’ and Access Group ‘B’ making it to the semi-finals which is scheduled to be played from 11.00am onwards.

Meanwhile in the Shield segment the eight teams to qualify to the quarter-finals were Pan Asia Bank, George Stuart, Virtusa, National Development Bank, DH International, Softlogic, CTC and Dialog ‘B’.
