Commander Mangala Mummullage (R) was the winner

Sri Lanka Navy golfer, Commander Mangala Mummullage gave the naval military establishment its first victory for the year 2019 at the Highlands Cup held in Diyathalawa. The Highlands Cup 2019 annual golf tournament hosted by Sri Lanka Army Golf Club teed off at the scenic Golf Course in Sri Lanka Military Academy in the garrison town of Diyathalawa on June 29.

The Tournament played under the ‘Handicap Rule’ was open to all and started with the participation of 83 national golfers and enthusiasts, including those from the tri-services at the invitation of the Sri Lanka Army Golf Committee.

Six Sri Lanka Navy golfers participated in this tournament and Commander Mangala Mummullage was placed as the runner-up of the Army Commander’s Challenging Trophy and received the award for ‘Longest Drive’ in the tournament.

Awards were given away at gala awards ceremony held at the Army Golf Club on the same day with the gracious presence of Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, as the chief guest.
