Professionals’ Cricket League Tournament now on

The 5th edition of the Professionals’ Cricket League (PCL) Tournament, organised by the Professionals’ Cricket Association (PCA) of Sri Lanka, will be held from July 20-August 4, in Colombo.

The PCA is a cricketing body established with the objective of promoting fellowship and camaraderie among professionals in various fields, in the spirit of Cricket.

In pursuance of such an objective, the inaugural PCL tournament was held successfully in 2015, and the second edition in 2016. Cricket teams representing Lawyers, Doctors and Architects participated in the 1st 2 editions of the PCL. The 3rd and 4th editions in 2017 and 2018 respectively, were held with the participation of 2 more teams, namely Aviators and Engineers.

This year, a 6th team, namely Town Planners will join the fray, along with Sri Lanka (SL) Lawyers’ Cricket, SL Doctors’ Cricket, SL Institute of Architects, Institute of Engineers SL and the Aviators.

The Preliminary round matches will be played on July 20th, 21st, 27th, 28th, August 3rd and 4th in Colombo. The matches will be on 20 overs per side. The finals and the awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, August 4, at the P. Sara Stadium, Colombo. The Finals will commence at 1.30 pm and the awards ceremony will follow soon after.

Last year, SL Doctors Cricket team won the Championship, beating the SL Architects Cricket team in the final.
