Ever-popular children’s plays – ‘Thoppi Welenda’ (The Hat Seller) and ‘Punchi Apata Dan therai’ (We Know It Now) produced by pioneer children’s theatre directress the late Somalatha Subasinghe will be staged at 8.15 am and 10.30 am on July 9 at the Lionel Wendt Theatre Colombo.

The play is a prescribed text for Grade 7 Sinhala language syllabus.

A semi musical created in line with the Sri Lankan folk theatre tradition, full of fun and frolic on the stage, for the young ones and parents alike, ‘Punchi Apita Den therei’ presents to the young and impressionable mind, important values and lessons in life. Music composition and direction is by M.R. Chulasinghe.
