The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABoC) will begin programmes at school level to educate students on the evils of corruption. This will be among several measures CIABoC is undertaking in the new year to tackle Bribery and Corruption in the country. Among its other measures is the recruitment of 50 Investigating Officers to its Investigations Unit.

The objective is to launch a Corruption-free culture integrated at different social levels including school level, said CIABoC Director General, Attorney Sarath Jayamanne P.C. “The increase in IOs is part of upgrading and strengthening the Bribery and Corruption investigation arm of the State,” he said.
