Naveen Henakankanamge, the prolific rugby player who is tipped to lead Sri Lanka at the forthcoming Junior Asiad Tournament, added another feather to his cap of success by claiming the ‘Thomian Blue’ for rugby at the S. Thomas’ College Colours Awards Ceremony. Naveen, who led S. Thomas’ College last season, was drafted into the Sri Lanka Under-20 7s and Sri Lanka 7s teams straight after school and also was picked for the Sri Lanka Super 7s last season.

Naveen, the youngest son of Sri Lanka player H.K. Sisira, also received the Warden’s Gold Medal and the Most Talented Rugby Player awards at the ceremony. He is earmarked as one of the future potentials to lead Sri Lanka and a key three-quarter player for years to come in the national grid.
