35 Scholarships to A/L Maths Teachers in Govt schools

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has offered 35 scholarships to Maths Teachers of Advanced Level (A/L) classes, in Government schools.
The objective is to enhance the quality of Maths teaching and to improve the Human Development factor in those who teach Maths in A/L classes.
The scholarships will facilitate recipients to follow Maths courses offered by the Post Graduate Institute (PGI) affiliated to the University of Peradeniya (UoP).
The MoE has allocated Rs. 4,655 million for the project.

UoP will shortly call for applications and interview prospective candidates for this programme. Scholarships were awarded to the 1st batch at the Peradeniya PGI with the participation of its Director Prikyatha Nanayakkara, MoE Deputy Director P.P. Nirosha, and senior officials of the PGI, Peradeniya.
