‘Sorry’ continues to dominate the UK singles chart for a second week by holding on to the No: 1 spot for Canadian artist Justine Bieber.

Additionally the he occupies the No: 2 slot too with ‘Love Yourself’ as it moved a notch up from No: 3. This is the first time since 1985 both the No: 1 and No: 2 spots on the UK singles chart has been occupied by a single artist.

Thirty years ago it was Madonna who had both spots at No: 1 with ‘Into The Groove’ and No: 2 was ‘Holiday’. For Madonna the two songs were from different albums.

In Bieber’s case both songs are from his album ‘Purpose’. Will ‘Love Yourself’ topple ‘Sorry’ from the top spot? Let’s see.

Nathan Sykes’ ‘Over And Over Again’ was the only song that brought in something new to the chart in a week which saw Adele dominate largely through the album chart. Sykes was a member of the now defunct, the Wanted.

His second single ‘Over And Over Again’ debuted on the chart inside the top 10 at No: 8. The pop ballad came out last week and got a boost thanks to a live performance on the X-Factor on 22nd November.

Sykes comes out on his hit song sounding a lot like John Legend. The song is not connected to any album as yet. Meanwhile Nathan Sykes will support Little Mix on their Get Weird tour starting next March.

The album has now topped the charts in Australia, Germany, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the UK and the US.

Several US musicians were among 17 US citizens who were honoured with the Medal of Freedom at the White House on 24th November by President Obama.

Among them were Barbra Streisand, Gloria and Emilio Estafan, James Taylor and the composer Stephen Sondheim. Rihanna is preparing to release her next album ‘ANTI’ after releasing several teasers over the last few weeks.
