Over 45,000 flower pots used for the green wall in front of Temple Trees erected by the previous regime are to be handed over to the Gampaha Botanical Garden, the Prime Minister’s office said.

The previous government is said to have spent Rs.3 million to set up the wall with mounted flower pots for the Commonwealth Summit, held in Colombo in 2013. The temporary wall with iron spikes had flower pots fitted to the wall surface, not only as a security measure but to create a green wall image. Pic by Indika Handuwala
