Exhibition of Chinese letters and calligraphy

The Sri Lanka-China Society in collaboration with the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with foreign countries (CPAFFC) and with the co-operation of the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka has organised a Chinese characters and calligraphy exhibition which is to be held on December 4 and 5, 2014. The venue of the exhibition will be the J. D. A. Perera gallery of the University of Visual and Performing Arts at Horton Place, Colombo 7. The exhibition is open to general public and school children, free of charge, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days

The opening ceremony of the exhibition is scheduled to take place on December 4. The Chief Guest at the ceremony will be Wu Jianghao, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Sri Lanka.

Seven visiting Chinese calligraphers will perform live on the sidelines of the exhibition.

In addition, a seminar on “Sri Lanka-China Cultural Relations – An impact of the famous Silk Route” will be held at the same venue commencing at 12 noon.

The Sri Lanka-China Society cordially invites the public and school children to grace this event.
