Sahan Chathuranga and Tharangani Sewwandi won the boys and girls road races organised by the Ministry of Agriculture to celebrate the
National Agricultural Week. Provincial Minister of Sports Weerasumana Weerasinghe flagged off the boys race opposite the historical Matara Bodiya and the girls race opposite Gunaratne MV in Palatuwa. The finish was opposite the Agricultural Research Centre at Thelijjawila where the National Agricultural Exhibition is being held.
Brothers H H Prabath Anuruddha and H H Anura Tharanga bagged second and third spots in the boy’s race while Piumi Vasana and H H Thilini Madhushika won second and third spots in the road race for girls.
Thilini Madhushika who won third spot in the girls race is the younger sister of Prabath Anuradha and Anura Tharanga.
