The Brendon’s School of Cricket completed a successful tour to India where they played against 12 teams in Mysore and Bangalore. The 18-day tour ended with six wins, a draw and five losses.

Vihan Weeraratne Senior Captain – Best Bowler

Sasrika Gajasinghe Junior Captain – Best Allrounder

Karindu Wickremasinghe – Best Batsman

Charith Aththanayake – Best Batsman

Matheesha Sankalana - Best Allrounder

Uvindu Ramanayaka - Best Bowler

Each youngster was given at least six games with the aim to give them a good sense of exposure. The Brendon’s SC senior team was captained by Vihan Weeraratne while the junior outfit was led by Sasrika Gajasinghe.

Both skippers led their respective teams from front but there were others who earned the spotlight in different games. One of them was Karindu Wickramasingha who did splendidly with the bat having averaged 142.5 with a century to his credit.

Karindu Wickramasinghe was named the best senior batsman while Vihan Weeraratne became the best bowler. Matheesha Sankalana became the best allrounder.

In the junior games, Charith Attanayake was adjudged the best batsman as Uvindu Ramanayake was named the best bowler. Sasrika Gajasinghe was named the best allrounder.

A special award was given away to Karindu Wickramasinghe who had an outstanding tour and was identified as the new talent found from the tour. Others who received special attention were Enosh Aponsu, Nathan de Silva and Anjana Dissanayake.

Sunil de Silva toured with the team as the manager and head coach while Ranga Weerasingha, Sahan Adeesha and Sadiq Hamin assisted in coaching during tour. – NA
