Kandy Seetha Devi Hockey Sevens for Schools and Clubs
View(s):The 20th (twentieth) edition of Seetha Devi Hockey Sevens for Schools and clubs in the island organised by Seetha Devi Girls School Kandy will be worked off at Bogambara stadium in Kandy on October 4 and 5.
According to the organisers the total number of teams for the schools Championships will be restricted to 32 (thirty two) teams 16 boys and 16 girls in the under 19 age group while 16 teams will be accommodated for men’s club Championship and 8 for women’s club Championship.
The entries for the tournament will close with Ms Chandrakanthi Kumaranayake, Principal Seetha Devi Girls School, Peradeniya Road Kandy on September 15 (fifteenth) and the entries will be accepted on first come first served basis. The Participating teams are advised to send in their entries before the deadline given.
Vijaya College Matale emerged boys Champions while Seetha Devi and Pushpadana Girls Kandy were the joint girls Champions last year.
In the club Championship Air Force annexed both men’s and women’s titles last year.
