Emirates has resumed all its daily flights from Colombo to Singapore, following the completion of a comprehensive runway upgrade project at Dubai International Airport which resulted in a temporary suspension of these flights.

On Tuesday, the Colombo – Singapore service returned to the previous schedule of 34 Emirates flights a week from Colombo — 27 flights from Colombo to Dubai and seven onwards to Singapore.

The airline said in a media release that the 80-day runway upgrade in Dubai has added much-needed capacity to the airport and enhanced the infrastructure to offer a better experience for travellers.

“Emirates is one of the best choices for people travelling from Colombo to Australia, with our daily flights to Singapore connecting particularly well with Emirates flights to Melbourne, where many expatriate Sri Lankans live,” said Chandana de Silva, Emirates Area Manager Sri Lanka and Maldives.

From Colombo, Emirates flight EK348 departs for Singapore at 15:05hrs all days of the week except Wednesdays, and arrives in Singapore at 21:35hrs, all times local. The corresponding Emirates flight to Melbourne EK404 departs Singapore at 22:40hrs. On Wednesdays, EK348 departs Colombo at 14:10hrs and arrives in Singapore at 20:40hrs.
