View(s):An exciting 7-a-side Tag Rugby Tournament with a twist, Rugby Rumble 2014, is expected to bring former college rugby stars back on pitch for a fun filled revival of great sporting action in a heady carnival style atmosphere.
The Rugby Rumble will take place on June 14 and 15 from 3.00pm to midnight at the Havelock Rugby ground is expected to be a memorable weekend of fun for friends and family; and a great way to reunite with the pack and relive those wonder years.
A fantastic event full of festivities, it will combine all the thrills and spills of great rugby, a fairground atmosphere as well as nights of stellar entertainment in one exhilarating fiesta.
The rugby 7s will comprise two teams each from Division ‘A’ schools from two different eras. To add more spice to the scrum, two female players will also be included in each team. Battling it out in league formation on twin playing fields, the teams will vie for trophies and cash prizes to the value of Rs. 700,000/-.
Away from the pitch, there will be Sri Lanka’s first ever wakeboarding machine, a kiddie’s corner with water slide, bouncing castle, and face painting; and plenty of food and drinks at hawker style stalls.
