The Sri Lanka Council for the Blind (SLCB), powered by an exquisite and unconquered batting performance, surged to a ten-wicket victory over the Ratmalana Sports Club yesterday, which booked them a berth in the finals of the Dilmah Challenge Trophy ‘B’ Group.
Batting first, Ratmalana Sports Club were bundled out for 178 runs in 25 overs with Sashiranal top-scoring with 36. Mahinda Navaratnam inflicted the bulk of the bowling devastation to finish with figures of 4 for 31.
SLCB made light work of the chase as their opening pair of Sashiranga, who flogged the opposition for a fierce 88 runs, and Thilak, who finished with 40 runs, guided them to 179 in 14 overs without conceding a single wicket.
