Singer Sri Lanka, has agreed to sponsor all tournaments conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association (SLSCA) for a term of three years. This was confirmed by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), who also has represented with SLSCA to seal the lucrative three-year deal. According to sources Singer will pump a huge sum of Rs. 15 million during the next three years.
While covering all the tournaments; from the Under-15, 17 and 19 age categories, .the endorsement will cover all divisions and all formats according to a Singer official. “We will strictly adhere to the agreement, which is being drafted presently. Singer will provide Rs. 5 million annually for three years,” the official stated.

Singer has gained heaps of experience working along with another schools sport governing body, the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA). The SLSRFA has entangled with many a legal battle with different schools and outside parties for many years during the past few years when Singer was its main sponsor.

“Working with the SLSRFA, has made Singer a shrewd tactician and that experience will allow us to work straightforwardly with the SLSCA. We will see how things progress and if we find our fundamental guideline, the agreement being breached at any point, Singer will have the liberty to walk out at any given time,” warned the official.

Singer also has sponsored many other sporting events including the Bradby Shield, MCA Premier League, Blue and Gold Hockey 7s and the now defunct International 7s Rugby conducted by the Kandy Sports Club.

“We will make official correspondence, dealings, negotiations with the SLSCA, since it was them who made the move. But we will closely study their (SLSCA) approach to judge if we could have a healthy, long-term relationship”.
