Lyceum triumph despite Kapukotuwa’s brilliance

A fine overall effort by Ashen Kapukotuwa, who bagged five wickets for 34 runs and top scored with an unbeaten 28, was still insufficient to prevent Lyceum International School Nugegoda from beating Alethea International School on run rate, in an Under 15 International Schools cricket fixture, played at the Health grounds recently.

Batting first, Lyceum International with useful contributions of 47 from Janith Jayakody and 42 from Bimsara Gamage, reached 186 for seven wickets in their quota of 30 overs. The pick of the bowlers was Kapukoutuwa with 5 for 34.

Alethea International were 64 for 4 when play had to be called off due to rain.
