DS Smashes badminton tourney begins on May 15
View(s):The DS Smashes All Island Age Group Badminton tournament, organised by the D.S Senanayake College Old Boys’ Association in collaboration with the Badminton Development Foundation, will be held from May 15 at the D.S Senanayake College Indoor Sports Complex.
The tournament, which will run for five days, will feature badminton players from across the country competing in the Under 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 age groups, with both boys’ and girls’ matches being contested on a knockout basis.
Organisers predict a high turnout with roughly a thousand players expected to participate in the competition. The tournament is approved by the Ministry of Education and will be officiated by referees from the Sri Lanka Badminton Association.
