Sri Lanka eyeing to host Asian 5Nations

Sri Lanka will be eyeing to host the Asian 5 Nations division 1 tournament scheduled for March/April 2013.

According to sources at Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU), Sri Lanka will bid to host the tournament which will also include Kazakhstan, Chinese Taipei and Thailand. The National Selectors have been asked to name a pool to start preparations in January guided by Ben Gollings who is expected to be the high performance coach.

The SLRFU has entrusted to its President, Asanga Seneviratne the task of deciding on a head coach from three short listed candidates. The head coach and the trainer are expected to start work in January. The administrators it was informed has had discussions with the clubs to agree to make available the players who will be selected to the pool. – VP
