Muhurath for ‘Tharu Athara Mama’
View(s):The Muhurath ceremony for the maiden cinematic direction of Buddhi Wickremarachchi,‘Tharu Athara Mama’was held with the participation of the cast and the crew recently.
Starring Shesadri Priyasad, Pubudu Chathuranga, Bimal Jayakody, Dilhani Asokamala, Palitha Silva, Iranganie Serasinghe, Luxman Mendis and Priyankara Ratnayake.
The film is revolved around a 22 year sold medical student Subhani whose real passion is dancing. Although this may appear as the main conflict, this film has several layers. Morality may standout as one major theme. However humanity of characters is explored in depth showing its multi-dimensions.
The director Buddhi who lives in Australia is an avid reader of cinema.
“This is more of an arty movie,” Buddhi said describing his debut film. It will be an entertaining movie which would have several layers underneath, he said.
Starting from December 27, the movie will have nearly a month of shooting in location around Colombo.
Cinematographer is Dhammika Ratnayake, editing is by Rangana Sinharage, assistant director Janaka R. Dommanige and art director is Sunil Premaratne. Produced by Piyaseeli Hema Wanigatunga, the production executive of ‘Tharu Athara Mama’ is Manjula Perera.
