By Gayani Perera

According to the lunar calendar the year of the ox starts from the 26th of January 2009, this will be celebrated on the 4th of February 2009, where in which the wealth god will be invited to visit our homes. The ox signifies the hard worker, therefore in order to achieve maximum results this year one must be hardworking. There are many rituals that must be performed on the 4th of February 2009, and this year it is expected to be prosperous for the South facing houses. Feng Shui is used to enhance ones good luck and suppress ones bad luck.

In order to educate people with regards to using Feng Shui for the New Year a special four hour seminar, conducted by Thilangani Herath, Master Practitioner and Consultant in Feng Shui will be held on the 25th of January 2009, at the Trans Asia Hotel from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm. After the seminar participants will get the opportunity to send up wish balloons, where each individual will get the opportunity to write a wish on a balloon before sending it up. It is believed that the positive energy levels generated during this exercise will contribute towards making this wish come true. During the seminar special discounts will also be offered for participants with regards to Feng Shui readings etc.

A special Feng Shui magazine was also launched by Thilangani on the 8th of January, which will be issued every month. This magazine will educate readers on the real aspects of Feng Shui and will provide monthly updates on the animal signs and the eight directions, special things to be aware of when purchasing a new car, how to de-clutter your home and, what your birthmarks reveal etc. So if you are interested in making the most of this year with the help of Feng Shui this seminar will be an ideal opportunity to take the first step towards making this happen.
