Wimal skips JVP grilling

The JVP is to take disciplinary action against dissident MP Wimal Weerawansa after he failed to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee this week, JVP leader Somawansa Amerasinghe said.

The disciplinary action was initiated after Mr. Weerawansa broke away from the JVP and formed his own party, the National Freedom Front.

Mr Weerawansa told The Sunday Times he did not want to comment on the matter.
