Saegis Convocation 2025 Marks a Landmark Celebration of Academic Excellence Honouring the Achievements of 2025

Saegis Campus, approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Cultural Affairs, had been established in 2014 and stands out as a leading Degree Awarding Non-State Higher Education Institute (DANSHEI) in Sri Lanka. Seagis Campus, with the approval of Ministry of Education and the recognition of the University Grants Commission (UGC), offers undergraduate Honours degrees in several disciplines. Saegis Campus conducts Postgraduate and Undergraduate programmes in partnership with Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) – UK. As an integral part of the above programmes, Saegis Campus also delivers Pearson Higher National Diplomas (HND) leading to CCCU degrees.
Distinguished Guests and Faculty Celebrate a Milestone Moment
Being one of the premier higher education institutes in Sri Lanka governed under the leadership of Mr. Bandara Dissanayake’s Chairmanship, Saegis Campus is dedicated to gift multi-faceted performers and true leaders to the world, it held its annual convocation on the 21st of November 2025 at the BMICH Colombo in the presence of the Vice Chancellor Major General Milinda Peiris (Retd), the Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Mohamed Abdel-Maguid (Education, Student Growth and Global Engagement) Canterbury Christ Church University, United Kingdom and the Chairman and the Deputy Vice Chancellor Senior Professor Emeritus W. G. D. Dharmaratna. It was graced and held with glamour under the distinguished patronage of renowned guests of CCCU UK Dr. Lorna Thomas, Michelle Childs, Ms. H.D. Chandima Janaki, Additional Secretary (Non-State Universities), Ministry of Education. Suriya Bibile, Regional Manager, South Asia, Pearson, members of the Governing Council, and distinguished academia of Saegis Campus, scholars, parents, and the graduands. The presence of CCCU academia and the Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka, further demonstrated the Campus’s mounting reputation and expanding network.
It conferred Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees of CCCU UK and MOHE-approved Saegis Degrees to 368 graduands, and 162 Pearson HND qualifications for a total of 530 students representing the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies, Faculty of Management, Humanities & Social Sciences, Faculty of Computing and Technology, ceremonially. Saegis 2025 convocation is a milestone moment of the culmination of nearly a decade of continuous institutional growth and refinement.
Growth and Commitment to Quality Education
This year’s convocation further underscored Saegis Campus’s dedication to excellence as outstanding students were honoured with some of the institution’s most prestigious accolades. The Vice Chancellor’s Awards recognised exceptional all-round achievers who demonstrated academic brilliance, leadership, and exemplary contribution to campus life. It was secured by D. N. K. Fernando and T. M. S. Sandaruwan. Across all faculties, Dean’s Awards were presented to high-performing students who consistently excelled in their coursework and displayed strong commitment to scholarly advancement. Adding to the celebration. Dean’s award was secured by N. D. Munasinghe and T. H. A. E. Weerasinghe.
The Best Performance Awards highlighted the top achievers in each programme, acknowledging those who attained the highest GPA and showcased exceptional dedication throughout their academic journey. The awards were secured by R. P. T. Sandun, A. M. B. Deshapriya, T. M. S. Yasara, M. H. S. F. Safa, H. K. A. G. Sathsarani, P. S. I. Fernando, N. R. M. Kumar and R. S. Perera for CCCU Degrees.
Addressing the gathering the Pro-VC of CCCU UK mentions that “Our partnership with Sages is valuable to us. We share a mission of transforming lives through education. We have long-term plans together and together we will make a tangible and measurable contribution to the Sri Lankan development by developing the skills and the pipeline of talented individuals that will go and fuel the economic development in Sri Lanka.” while Mr. Bandara Dissanayake highlights the vitality of building on the wisdom and humanity remaining authentic for true breakthroughs of new perspectives to give back to the society.
Saegis Campus Degree best performance awards were secured by T. M. S. Sandaruwan, S. D. Sewwandi, S. J. K. Senevirathna, M. R. Thilakarathna and N. D. Munasinghe. Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND programmes winners were P. L. D. Edirisinghe, W. B. R. E. Fernando and A. N. T. Perera.

Saegis Campus offers 12 Ministry of Education approved Saegis Degrees, Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Business Management Honours Degrees in Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Tourism and Hospitality Management and Bachelor of Science Honours in Information Technology, Computer Science and Software Engineering. It also offers a Bachelor of Arts in English Degree.
International Degrees of CCCU UK in Master of Business Administration, and three Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degrees, Business Management, Accounting and Finance and an Engineering programme, Bachelor of Engineering Honours in Software Engineering. Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND Qualifications: in Business (Management), (Accounting and Finance), (Marketing) and (International Travel and Tourism), in Computing (Software Engineering), (Data Analytics), and (Networking Engineering), and in Applied Sciences (Biotechnology) and (Biology).
Pearson BTEC Level 3 International Foundation Programme for Higher Education in Business and Information Technology are also delivered. It also offers Pearson Assured Diplomas in English, Management and Information Technology and Dual Certificate in English Language and IT.
