Cabinet approves land transfer for Rajarata Uni hostel facilities
View(s):The cabinet has approved transferring land to build hostel facilities for students, academic and non-academic staff of the Rajarata University.
Two hostel complexes, 6 family unit quarters for the academic and non-academic staff, 12 bachelor quarters, and 2 basketball and netball pitches are to be constructed.
The 2 acres 9.6 perches land is located in the Thannayakulam Grama Niladhari division in the Central Nuwaragam Palatha Divisional Secretariat area.
Around 2,070 students are studying in the Faculties of Medicine, Science and Agriculture of the university. 150 academic and non-academic staff serve these faculties.
The faculties are in a rural area near the Anuradhapura-Medawachchiya road within a limited space.
