Hungarian scholarships offered
View(s):The Education Ministry has called applications from eligible Lankans to award 8 undergraduate scholarships offered by Hungary.
The scholarships are offered under the bilateral cooperation between governments of Sri Lanka and Hungary on the stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship program for the academic year 2026/27.
Applicants can study science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), and agriculture. Available study programmes and host institutions are accessible at the online application system: https://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/
Study programmes are available in English and Hungarian languages.
Selected candidates will be exempted from the payment of tuition fee but be responsible for the international round trip cost.
They should be citizens of Sri Lanka, and over 18 years. Applicants should have a minimum of three passes at the GCE (A/L) examination in the relevant field of study conducted by the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka.
Applicants should possess a good knowledge of English at least a C pass in English at the GCE (O/L) exam and S pass at the GCE A/L exam.
Applicants should be in good health and should be ready to live in Hungary during the period of study. They should not be enrolled or following an undergraduate degree at a state university as an internal student.
The deadline for application is January 15, 2026, 14.00 (Central European Time).
