Sasith shines for Dharmaraja; Carey record outright win
Sasith Bandara produced a fine knock of 111, well supported by half-centuries from Kavindu Gunaratne and Mandil Gunawardena, as Dharmaraja College earned a first-innings win over Moratu MV in a high-scoring Under-19 Inter-School Cricket Tournament encounter played at Lake View in Kandy.
Moratu MV, taking first lease of the wicket, posted 284, with Sanjana Seneviratne and Diniyura Oshada both scoring half-centuries. Dharmaraja, propelled by their top-order trio, replied strongly to declare at 332-7, securing a commanding first-innings lead.
Meanwhile, at Wennappuwa, Carey College recorded a comfortable outright win by 8 wickets against Loyola College, Kochchikade, thanks to an impressive match haul of 11 wickets from Irusha Vidarshana and a solid half-century from Randula Weerakkody.
